Kathleen "Kathy" Jones

SALEM - Kathleen "Kathy" Jones, a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully at Parkside Healthcare Center, on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at the age of 72. Kathy, born on April 27, 1951, was a lifelong resident of Salem, where she was known for her kind heart and loving spirit.

Kathy was the cherished daughter of the late Norman F. Flick and Josephine A. (Oshie) Flick. She treasured her family and leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Her daughter, Lisa Conway, and son-in-law, Mike Conway, of Salem, will hold the values and lessons she imparted close to their hearts. She was a supportive sister to Norman Flick of Warren, and the late John Flick. Kathy's warmth and guidance will be deeply missed by her niece, Jennifer Tallman, and her husband, Daryn, as well as her great-nieces, Ella, Anna, and Josie, who adored their great-aunt and her endearing nature.

She was a proud graduate of Salem High School, class of 1969. Her strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit led her to become the co-owner and operator of Josie's Pizza Shop, a local favorite. Kathy retired in February 2020, after years of dedicated service, leaving behind a legacy of delicious memories and a community grateful for her and her family's contributions to local cuisine.

Kathy's interests and hobbies painted the picture of a woman who loved life and knew how to enjoy it. An avid bowler, she was an active member of the bowling association, where she made many lifelong friends and struck countless pins. Her love for card games also found her at the center of several local card clubs, where her friendly and competitive nature was always in good form. Kathy's love for reading, working puzzles, shopping, and gaming filled her leisure time with joy and relaxation.

Those who knew Kathy will remember her as a kind, friendly, and loving person. She approached life with a gentle demeanor and a smile that could light up a room. Her presence was a source of comfort and happiness to those around her, and her absence will be felt deeply by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Kathy's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and friendship. Her memory will be treasured and kept alive through the stories and laughter she shared with so many. The community of Salem has lost one of its brightest lights, but her spirit will continue to shine in the hearts of her loved ones and friends.

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Kathy Jones will be profoundly missed but never forgotten. Her legacy of love, kindness, and joy will be her lasting gift to us all.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, at noon, Family and friends may call from 11 AM until the time of services at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home.
