LISBON – Charles E. Grubbs, age 90, of Lisbon, died at 3:10 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Continuing Health Care of Lisbon. He was born February 24, 1928 in Salem, the son of Edward Z. and Laula (Bradbury) Grubbs.
Charles was employed at the former Crane Deming Co. for 44 years, retiring as a quality control engineer. He was also co-founder of Grubbs Brothers, Inc. Charles was a member of Franklin Square United Methodist Church. He was a former officer and board member of Columbiana County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Charles loved gardening, designing mechanical things and was an avid reader.
His wife, Phyllis A. Grubbs whom he married April 14, 1956 preceded him in death March 5, 2016.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara (James) Cox of Canfield, Sandra Gregg of London, Ohio, and Karen Grubbs of Lisbon; and one granddaughter, Sarah Gregg.
He was also preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, John B. (Donna) Grubbs; a sister and brother-in-law, Juanita (Willard) Hawkins and a son-in-law, Charley Gregg.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Stark Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Steve Keneally officiating. Calling hours will be held 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery.
