Edward Gauding

SALEM – Edward Gauding, age 50, passed away at 11:10 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born March 7, 1968 in Salem, Ohio, the son of the late Donald F. and Martha J. (Gromley) Gauding.

Ed was known for his wonderful personality and a great sense of humor.  He was an avid sports fan, especially football, and enjoyed watching his Pittsburgh Steelers play.

Ed was loved and will be greatly missed by his sisters, Carolyn E. Hart, Diana L. (Stephen) Elkins and Mary J. (Robert) Blaine and his brothers, Frederick D. (Brenda) and R. Scott (Deborah) Gauding.  He is also survived eleven nieces and nephews along with ten great-nieces and great-nephews. 

He was also preceded in death by a niece, Dawn A. Gauding.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Columbiana County Humane Society, 1825 S. Lincoln, P.O. Box 101, Salem, OH 44460 in his memory.  Having grown up on the family farm, Ed enjoyed having many pet dogs and cats.  He always looked forward to visits from Rosie, the pygmy goat, when he and our mother would feed her granola bars.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Blossom Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Salem, Ohio, Opportunity Homes in Lisbon, Ohio and Salem Regional Medical Center for Ed's care.

Private services will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Stark Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Stephen Elkins, Ed's brother-in-law, from the Springboro Church of Christ in Middletown, Ohio conducting the services.  Interment will be at the Highland Christian Church cemetery.
