SALEM – George M. Crawford, age 87, died at 4:23 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown. He was born January 19, 1932 in Canfield, the son of the late John W. and Ethel S. (Clay) Crawford.
George was the owner of Crawford Construction which he established in 1956. He bowled in various leagues over the years and he owned and trained harness horses most of his life. George served on the Hornet Aircraft Carrier in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Survivors include a son, John (Julie) Crawford of North Canton; a daughter, Dorene (Lynn) White of Columbiana; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, three sisters, Virginia Crawford, Doris Park and Arlene Howell preceded him in death.
A private service will be held at Hope Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Leonard Moore officiating. Burial will be held at Hope Cemetery.
