Jeffrey Carl

SALEM – Jeffrey Carl, age 61, died at 10:28 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Salem Regional Medical Center. He was born October 16, 1957, the son of Mary L. (Shaffer) Safreed, step-mother Patricia Carl and the late Elmer Carl.

Jeffrey retired in 2013 after 20 years of service as an assemblyman for American Standard. He is Protestant by Faith. Jeffrey liked to restore antique cars, enjoyed attending drag races yearly, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Survivors include his wife, Jennifer (Butts) Carl, whom he married July 20, 1996; five daughters, Tina (Robert) Milliron of Salem; Melissa Mills of Homeworth, Jennifer Fridley of East Liverpool, Jessica Carl of East Liverpool and Jerrica Carl of Salem; a sister, Linda (Barry) Baddeley of Salem; two brothers, Roger Carl of Salem and Steven Carl of Streator, IL; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Two brothers, Ronald and Richard Carl and one grandson, Ethan Fridley, also preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Stark Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Pastor Tom Bunner officiating. Calling hours will be held from 2:00-4:00 Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Grandview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for funeral expenses.
