SALEM – Jesse L. Wamer, age 73, died at 12:07 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2019 at Crandall Medical Center in Sebring. He was born February 21, 1945 in Ravenna, Ohio, the son of the late Jesse and Louise Wamer.
Jesse worked on the line at General Motors in Lordstown, retiring in 2004. He was a Methodist by Faith, a member of UAW. He enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica in several bands throughout the years. Jesse also enjoyed working on cars, woodworking and breeding Paso Fino horses.
He is survived by his wife, Marilynne “Mandi” Wamer, whom he married May 2, 1981; three daughters, Kim (Dave) Hershberger of Ravenna; Jennifer Wamer of Canton and Jessie (George) Johnson of Atwater; a step-daughter, Tammi (Bruce) Juengst of Mooresville, NC; a step-son, Brad (Wendy) Smith of Mooresville, NC; two brothers, Chuck (Elizabeth) Wamer of Streetsboro and Rev. Ron (Karen) Wamer of Cape Coral, FL; brother-in-law, Donald (Dorothy) Steinbeck Sr. of Jacksonville, NC; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, his brothers, Bob and Gene and his sisters, Maedell and Betty also preceded him in death.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Stark Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Doug George officiating. Calling hours will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2019 and 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Hart Cemetery on St. Rt. 45.
