LISBON – Jon Wayne Cook, age 73, died at 12:43 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2019 at the Salem Regional Medical Center. He was born May 5, 1945 in Salem the son of the late Owen and Pearl (Johnson) Cook.
Jon retired in 2011 as Assistant Service Manager for Columbiana Buick, Olds & Cadillac after 48 years of service. He was a member of the Winona United Methodist Church. He loved to go to classic car shows and NASCAR Races. His hobbies included detailing cars, gardening and landscaping. He enjoyed doing search-a-word puzzles, playing pool and going to concerts. He also enjoyed meeting with the State Route 45 Car Club at Dunkin Donuts to socialize.
Jon was a loving husband, father and especially a loving grandfather to the apple of his eye his granddaughter, Ryhann.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth A. (Allison) Cook whom he married May 26, 1968; a son, Jeffrey S. Cook of Austintown; a daughter, Meghann E. (Ryan P. Ferro) Cook of Lisbon; a granddaughter, Ryhann E. Ferro; a sister, Diane Kelly of Streetsboro; two brothers, Daryl Menough of Lees Summit, Missouri and Jerry of Ft. Scott, Arkansas, a half-brother, William Young of Lisbon, and two sister-in-laws, Michelle (Paul) Allison-Palmer of Bolivar and Martha (Paul) Allison-Otto of Mission, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at the Winona United Methodist Church with Pastor Tom Scott officiating. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Woodsdale Cemetery at Guilford Lake.
