SALEM – Kenneth Burrier, age 85, died at 10:35 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Blossom Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. He was born July 3, 1933 in Salem, Ohio, the son of Oscar and Bertha (Yocus) Burrier.
Kenneth was employed as head tool maker for 35 years at the former E.W. Bliss Company and had previously been a mason. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Salem. Kenneth was also a member of the Leetonia Sportsman Club. He collected antique cars, gasoline engines, Cushman Scooter and boat motors, his favorite being the 1957 Mahogany Wolverine Boat. Kenneth owned Burrier Cake, Candy and Craft Supplies for 15 years.
Survivors include his wife, Goldie (Borton) Burrier, whom he married August 25, 1955; a son, Michael Burrier of Salem; a daughter, Sally Burrier and fiancé Mike Calderone of Alliance; a sister, Virginia Benson of North Carolina; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Rev. Meta Cramer officiating.
