SALEM – Marian E. Walker, age 86 passed away at10:10 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Brookdale Senior Living with her family by her side. She was born May 7, 1932 in Wellsville the daughter of the late George W. and Violet Erma (Murray) Whittaker. Marian and her late husband, Mock were prior owners of Marks Landing Restaurant at Guilford Lake in Hanoverton and they established the Stone Ridge Terrace campground in 1990. She was school teacher for Salem School District and taught at Buckeye and Southeast Schools and retired in 1988. She was a 1950 graduate of Wellsville High School and a graduate of Bowling Green State University.
Her husband, Maurice “Mock” E. Walker whom she married June 20, 1953 preceded her in death on April 28, 1916.
Survivors include two sons, James E. (Jean) Walker of Grafton, West Virginia and Jeffrey Walker of Salem; three daughters, Deborah (Rob) Hoover of Brimfield, Deanna (Bruce) Close of Salem and Barbara (Ed) Bell of Salem; two sisters, Juanita Wabnitz of Shepherdstown, West Virginia and Violet Tolj of Naples Florida; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A brother, George W. Whittaker and a sister, Carol Ann Long also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the Stark Memorial
Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Matthew Doerle officiating. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery.
