COLUMBUS, MS - Ricky “Rick” Linden Michaels, 53, passed away Friday, October 11, 2019. Rick was born on July 22, 1966 in Salem, Ohio, son of Clarence “Butch” L. Michaels and Lezlie (Fred) (Menough) Thompson. Rick was considered everyone’s favorite.

He was a member of Vibrant Church, Columbus, MS. Rick was a 1984 graduate of United Local High School. He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he was a decorated veteran. Rick was an Enforcement Specialist, having earned several medals and ribbons during his tour of duty while stationed in Greece and Italy. He was stationed overseas for six years.

Survivors include a son, William (Jessica) Michaels of Hanover, PA; three daughters, Kirstyn (Zack) O’Callaghan, Micayla and Ciarra Michaels of Columbus, MS; grandchildren, Lillian, Tucker, Raelynn, Jacie, Madelyn, and Noah Michaels, James, Gydeon and Jaxyn O’Callaghan, Madelyn and Noah Michaels and Landyn Holman and Noah Michaels; a sister, Peggy Michaels; a brother, Billy (Cristin) Thompson, both of Salem, OH; nieces, Alison Suggett, Sydney Thompson; nephew, Brady Thompson; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

His grandparents, William & Marguerite (Scullion) Michaels and George and Nellie (Shaw) Menough and an uncle, Warren Michaels preceded him in death.

Ricky touched so many lives during his short life with us. He always had a smile on his face and a lending hand reaching out to who ever needed help. Ricky was the kindest most loving person who was loved by so many. He will be missed by everyone wo was blessed enough to know him. We all love you Ricky. May your soul rest in peace,

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 4, 2019 at Stark Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Leonard Moore officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Salem Honor Guard. Burial will be at Hope Cemetery.
