Alan Duer Price, 58, passed away peacefully on December, 24, 2021, at University Hospital Cleveland Medical Center in Cleveland. He was born on March 27, 1963, in Salem, Ohio, son of the late Charles and Mary (Shivers) Price. Close family knew him as Al, Dad or Poppy.
Alan was a graduate of Salem High School. He entered the United States Army for four years. He worked as a mechanical engineer.
In his younger years, Alan was known for causing trouble. He valued his friends and had the best stories to tell, from shooting bottle rockets at cars on Jennings Ave., to riding around in his ‘68 Impala and listening to the only cassette he owned until it wore out.
Alan was a member of the Salem AMVETS Post 45, Slovak Club and VFW. His favorite joys came from fishing with his friends and grandkids, and hunting with family and friends. It was not uncommon for him to be out somewhere with his uncle Jim looking for one more rabbit, deer, elk, bear, turtle, and turkey to have on the table. He loved his faithful companion, his dog Jill. His favorite place to travel was Kodiak, Alaska, where he was able to put down his first black bear. Legend has it the bear is now a rug.
Besides his parents, Alan is also preceded in death by his brothers, James and Charles Price.
He is survived by his son, David Price; daughters, Denise Price and Jerrica (Nick) Sego; brothers, Richard (Lisa) Price, John (Mary) Price, Norman (Beverly) Price; sisters, Patricia (Price) Crone, Deborah (Gary) Walker and Mary Price; grandchildren, Ariella, Preston, Carson, Natalee, Kinsley, Edward and many nieces and nephews that loved him.
