Alice E. (Sanor) Martig

Beloit - Alice E. Martig, 92, died Monday, August 11, 2025, at Copeland Oaks in Sebring.

Born on March 12, 1933, in Knox Twp, Ohio, Alice was the daughter of Earl and Bessie (Stoffer) Sanor.

A lifelong resident of the area, Alice attended Goshen High School. On December 8, 1951, she married her husband, Roger A. Martig. Together, they embarked on a 73-year journey filled with love, laughter, and the shared joy of raising a family. Alice's role as a dedicated homemaker was one she embraced with her whole heart. She and Roger were blessed with five children, whose lives were enriched by her constant support and care. The legacy of their love continued to grow with the addition of 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Alice's commitment to her family was unparalleled. She ensured that her loved ones never lacked for anything, providing a home filled with love, warmth, and comfort. Her caring nature and generosity extended beyond her family as many loved her as a second mother.

Alice was a member of the Bunker Hill Methodist Church, the Farm Bureau, Damascus Historical Society, and the Duo Dec Um Club since 1951. She was an active member of the West Branch Athletic Boosters for many years and enjoyed attending Warriors' athletic events.

Survivors include, her husband, Roger; daughter, Rhonda (Mark) Bernard of Twinsburg; sons, Earl (Connie) Martig of Beloit, Sam (Deborah) Martig of Sebring, Marvin (Tiffany) Martig of Beloit, and John (Natela) Martig of Beloit; sisters, Evelyn (Larry) Romigh of Homeworth, and Bernice Blair of Beloit; 19 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by siblings, Anna Mae Buckman, George Sanor, Floyd Sanor, and Ray Sanor.

There will be no calling hours. A celebration of life service will be at a later date.
