SALEM - Barbara L. Lantz, 73, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Salem Regional Medical Center in Salem.
Barbara was born on Christmas Day in 1951, in Salem, Ohio, a daughter of the late Martin H. and Thelma M. (Gaston) Fraundofer.
A lifelong resident of Salem, Barbara was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1970. On October 10, 1979, Barb married Thomas A. Lantz, and they celebrated 33 years of marriage until Tom's passing on May 2, 2013. Barbara's faith and family was the cornerstone of her existence. She embraced the role of being a dedicated homemaker and loving wife, mother, and grandma.
A devout Catholic, Barbara was an active and cherished member of the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon. Barb gave generously of her time and her presence was a staple at church programs and events. In her retirement years, she also enjoyed working for the gift shop at the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon.
Barb leaves to carry on her memory, her sons, Toby (Alexandria) Lantz of Lisbon and Michael (Margarita Reyes) Lantz of Lakewood; stepchildren, Erin Green of Washington DC and Erika (Frank) McGowan of Atlanta; sister, Betty (Mark) Kuzemchak of Salem; six grandchildren, Monica Lantz, Sean Barringer, Kristian Lantz, Gabriel Lantz, Lacy Lantz, and Annalee Lantz; and her partner, Rohn Riley of Salem.
In addition to her parents and husband, Barb was preceded in death by her sister, Marylou Schwandtner, and her beloved cat and companion, Jaeger.
Friends and family will be received from 9:30 a.m.-10:45 a.m., on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon, 2759 N. Lipkey Rd, North Jackson, OH 44451, where a Funeral of Divine Liturgy will follow at 11 a.m., with the Chorbishop Anthony S. Spinosa officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Salem.
Memorial contributions may be made in Barb's name to the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon.
