Brandon "Tyler" Rock

Brandon “Tyler” Rock, 30, of Salem, passed away on April 13, 2023. He was born to parents Brandon Rock and Bella Andrews Rock (Skinner) on November 11, 1992.

There is no way to sum up the type of person Tyler was in a few paragraphs. He was so much to so many people. Tyler was many things, an artist, song writer, guitarist, pianist, and a singer to name a few. He was very witty and had the ability to make everybody laugh. He was an amazing human being, very loving, kind, patient, and a best friend to many. Most importantly he loved his family and friends very much. 

Tyler is a graduate of Salem High School, while also attending Marlington High School for college prep courses. He was very active in sports during his early childhood including high school until turning his focus onto career paths. Tyler had a passion for helping others. He completed EMT training and held a position as a 9-1-1 dispatcher. 

Tyler had a special bond with animals, and he enjoyed showing his unique approach to training them along with communicating with them. Tyler was very gifted in many ways, most notably his piano playing skills. He could listen to any song and learn how to play that song on the piano just by listening to the tone. Anywhere there was a piano, Tyler would play the most beautiful music that one could listen to endlessly. Tyler life’s desire was to get outdoors to play tennis, travel to new places, make even more friends and explore every aspect of life. 

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Brandon (Jenn) Rock of Cherryville, NC; and Bella (Jason) Andrews of Madera, CA; 3 brothers, Derek “Michael” Rock, Garrett Rock and Dalton Rock; grandparents, Blaine Rock and Shirley Skinner; many aunts, uncles, cousins, along with an astronomical number of friends.

Preceding him in death are Grandma Judie Rock, Grandpa Gary Skinner and Great Grandpa and Grandma Glenn (Marjorie) Hammill.

A private family viewing is at 1:00 p.m., welcoming friends at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Grandpa Blaine Rock officiating.

A Celebration of Life will immediately follow the service. Everyone is welcome!
