LISBON – Brian K. Joy, 61, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 22, 1963, in East Liverpool, OH, son of the late Wilbur “Jim” E. and Joanne (Long) Joy.
Brian was a 1981 graduate of Wellsville High School. He served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Midway stationed in Yokosuka, Japan where he was cryptological technician. Brian was a lifelong area resident and a member of the Lisbon Church of the Nazarene where he served on the church board for several years. He was a monitor technician at Salem Regional Medical Center for over 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and camping. Brian loved spoiling his grandchildren, cherishing his role as “Pappy.”
Brian is survived by his wife, Melissa (Glenn) Joy, whom he married June 17, 1987; three sons, Dan (Phylicia) Joy of Salem, Dylan (Tiffany) Joy of Columbiana and Derek (Elysabethe O’Hara) Joy of Salem; sister, Shyla Joy of Palatka, FL; brother, Joseph (Mary) Call of Marysville, OH; four grandchildren, Alexa, Kaisley, Landan and Addylan Joy. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Shelby Glenn.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Dale and Don Call, Gregory, Dan and Michael Joy; two sisters, Brenda Sell and Janet Trease, and father-in-law, Harry Glenn.
Per Brian’s request, no services will be held.
Arrangements are being handled by Stark Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
