SALEM - Bruce F. Shasteen, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, December 4, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospital Mercy Health in Boardman, with his wife and daughters by his bedside. Bruce was 60 years old, known for his loving heart and friendly spirit, Bruce was born on March 19, 1964, in Salem, OH, and left an indelible mark on the lives of those he touched.

Bruce's early years were spent in Salem, where he attended Salem High School. He was the beloved son of Robert Shasteen and Donna (Elwonger) Morrocco, both of whom predeceased him. Bruce found love and companionship in Brooke (Shafer) Shasteen, whom he married on April 4, 2016, in a ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends in Salem. Together they shared a life full of laughter, mutual support, and endless love.

Throughout his life, Bruce dedicated many years to the printing industry, working as a printer for various local companies. His commitment to his work was evident in the quality of his craftsmanship and his steadfast work ethic. Colleagues will remember Bruce as a kind and reliable presence, always ready with a helping hand or a word of encouragement.

Bruce's passions extended beyond his professional life. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan, never missing a game and always ready to cheer on his team with enthusiasm. As an outdoorsman, he found great joy in golfing and often spent his weekends on the green, perfecting his swing and enjoying the camaraderie of fellow golfers.

Family was the cornerstone of Bruce's life. He was a devoted father to his four daughters and a doting grandfather to his two grandchildren. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family, whether it was a quiet evening at home or a lively family gathering. Bruce's love for his family was evident in every action, every sacrifice, and every moment of support he provided.
