Carol Lee (Metz) Kleismit

Windham, OH-Carol Lee Kleismit, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, on January 15, 2026, at the age of 65.

Born on May 23, 1960, in Bedford, Ohio, Carol was the daughter of the late William and Eileen (Clay) Metz. Carol graduated from Nordonia High School in the Class of 1978. She furthered her education by earning an associate's degree in Horse Production and Management from the Ohio State Agricultural Technical Institute (ATI), a path that beautifully aligned with her lifelong passion for horses. Carol's love for these majestic creatures led her to a fulfilling career for many years as a horse caretaker.

Beyond her professional life, Carol was a voracious reader, often found with a book in hand. During the summer months, she could be found soaking up the sun's warmth, and in cooler weather, she was content to sit by the fire. Carol also loved testing her luck with lottery scratch-off tickets. Above all, Carol treasured the time spent with her family and friends and truly enjoyed life's simple pleasures.

With a loving, courageous, and resilient spirit mixed with just the right amount of sass, Carol's personality was magnetic and made her easy to love. The joy she brought to so many will be truly missed.

She leaves to carry on her memory, her husband of 40 years, Michael Kleismit Sr.; children, Michael (Michelle) Kleismit Jr., Phillip Kleismit, Scott Kleismit, Emma Kleismit, and Nicholas Kleismit; grandchildren, Rachael, Brianna, Phillip, and Cadence Kleismit; and sister, Lori (Joe) Carson.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence Metz.

Arrangements are being handled by Stark Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
