Carolyn F. (Dawson) Sawyer

COLUMBIANA - Carolyn Faith (Dawson) Sawyer, 88, passed away Friday, January 9, 2026, at the Hampton Woods Rehabilitation Center in Poland, Ohio. She was born November 18, 1937, in Youngstown, the oldest daughter of Earle & Emma Dawson. 

Carolyn graduated from Austintown Fitch High School in 1955. She married Jack E. Sawyer on July 27, 1959.

Carolyn leaves behind her daughter, LeeAnn (William “Beau”) Watson of Columbiana; three grandsons, Nathan (Clare) Vitelli, Matthew Vitelli, Jackson Vitelli and their father, Tom Vitelli of Austintown; her sister, Kathi (Dawson) Ramhoff of Austintown and many nieces and nephews and in-laws. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by twin siblings, Jack and Margaret Dawson, and sister, Doris (Dawson) Parry of Canfield, and twin granddaughters, Gina and Rachael Vitelli.

Carolyn was a Jehovah’s Witness and attended the Austintown Congregation. She enjoyed speaking to others about Jehovah God and his son Jesus Christ. Through her extensive Bible research, she learned about God’s promise of a resurrection to everlasting life in a paradise earth, soon to be established.

There are no memorial services.

Arrangements were being handled by Stark Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
