Carrie E. (McFeely) Saltsman, age 87, of Salem died at 9:41 a.m. Sunday, March 02, 2025, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Boardman, Ohio. She was born October 31, 1937, in Salem to George E. and Gladys L. (Schumacher) McFeely.
She was a proud 1955 graduate of Salem High School and before her retirement in 1998, was employed for 24 years at the Salem Utilities Dept as Senior Water Clerk. Prior to that, she was employed by Young & Merrill Insurance. She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church and a former member of the Salem Quota Club.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death in 2014 by her husband, Edward A. Saltsman, Jr, whom she married May 18, 1957.
She is survived by two sons, Jeff Saltsman of Salem, and Mark (Wendy) Saltsman of Salem; three grandchildren, Alisa Saltsman (Luke Dowd), Kenneth (Brittney) Saltsman and Anne (Ryan) Zeno; and five great-grandchildren, Storey, Lyla and Miller Saltsman, Callihan Zeno and Logan Dowd.
Carrie had enjoyed traveling with her husband, gardening, watching television and was also an avid reader. Most of all, she cherished her family.
Carrie’s family would like to thank the staff at Lexington Place Assisted Living for the compassionate and loving care she received during her time there.
There are no calling hours. Interment at Grandview Cemetery and a celebration of Carrie’s life will take place at a later date.
