Cynthia Blackmon Obituary

SALEM – Cynthia Lee Blackmon, age 66, died at 1:57 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2019 at Circle of Care Center in Salem. She was born November 22, 1952 in Salem, Ohio, the daughter of the late John P. and Mary (Reed) Pierce.

Cynthia had been employed at Blackhawk Industries and attended Salem First Friends Church. She was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and was active with Awanas Club with the church.

Survivors include her companion, Robert Blackmon; two sons, Timothy (Niaomi) Seymour of Denton, TX and Roy (Christine) Seymour of Ponder, TX; two daughters, Joy (John) Cabot of Krum, TX and Mary Blackmon and fiancé, Kurt Materna; a sister, Debbie (Ron) Bryant of Alliance; brother, John (Deb) Pierce Jr. of Danielsville, GA; and eleven grandchildren.

Her two sisters, Yvonne Handy and Faye Handy also preceded her in death.

Services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Stark Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Pete Fowler officiating. Calling hours will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
