David R. Cowie

David Robert Cowie, 71, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026, in Warren, Ohio.

He was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on September 28, 1954, to the late Robert W. Cowie and Elaine (Kestel) Davin.

Dave graduated from Salem High School in 1972.  

He joined the United States Navy in August of 1972. Dave spent time in Seoul, Korea, and earned a National Defense Service Medal during his time in the Navy.

Dave was a very talented man. He primarily worked in construction, specifically home remodeling. He spent time working in the landscaping business as well. He was a very skilled woodworker and cabinet maker. In his spare time, he enjoyed going fishing, reading, gardening, and he always remained a loyal Steelers fan.  

Dave will be dearly missed by his four sisters, Kathleen Betso, Susan (Richard) Ross, Judy (John) Ossachuk, and Mary (Curt) Maguire, a brother, Martin J. (Trudy) Cowie, a brother-in-law Bob Stein, and a sister-in-law Toni Cowie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, Dennis Davin, two brothers, Mark W. Cowie and Robert W. Cowie Jr. and a sister, Barbara Stein.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 12:45pm at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery located at 10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, OH 44273.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any monetary donations be made out to Heartland Hospice located at 1240 Boardman-Canfield Rd, Suite 4C, Boardman, OH 44512.

Arrangements are being handled by Stark Memorial Funeral Home.
