Donna J. Dailey

SALEM - Donna J. Dailey, 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Hospice House in Boardman.

Born on July 17, 1939, in Salem, Donna was the beloved daughter of the late Clare D. and Ariel I. (Patterson) Davis.

A proud 1957 graduate of Salem High School, Donna's work ethic and talent became evident early on. She dedicated over 30 years of her life to Ort Furniture of Salem as an upholsterer. Her career journey later led her to Sterns and Foster in Columbiana, and upon retirement, she continued to contribute to her community by working part-time at Lyle Printing.

She and her husband, Harry, who preceded her in death on November 6, 2022, after 58 years of marriage, were a familiar sight in Salem, working side by side in their yard care service since Donna was 16. Together, they created a haven not only for themselves but also for the many children who needed a place to stay from time to time.

Travel and adventure were among Donna's greatest joys. She and Harry explored the world together, visiting the majestic landscapes of Alaska twice and basking in the beauty of the Smoky Mountains. Closer to home, they cherished their time at their camper in Paradise Lake in East Rochester, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed visiting casinos. She was crafty, making mittens, afghans, baby blankets, and more through her skilled knitting and crocheting.

Donna is survived by her loving daughter, Ariel (Roy) Stacy of Leetonia; her sister, Janet Iden of Salem; nieces, Janine (Steve) Beasley of South Carolina, Nadine (Bill) Urban of Philadelphia, and Martha Lozier of Virginia; as well as a host of step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members. She was also preceded in death by her nephew, Rick Lozier, who was like a son to her.

Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate Donna's life from 11:00 a.m.-Noon, Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Stark Memorial Funeral Home. A service will follow at Noon with Pastor Bruce Rhodes officiating. Following the service, Donna will be laid to rest at Grandview Cemetery.
