Donna L. Wright

SALEM - Donna Lee Wright, 82, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family in Salem.

Born June 6, 1942, in Youngstown, Donna was the beloved daughter of the late Leroy Henry and Florence Margaret (Gray) Purbaugh.

A proud graduate of Girard High School, Donna embarked on a fulfilling career as an X-Ray technician, a role she dedicated herself to for 25 years. She later went on to serve as a secretary at Rogers Assembly of God, where she worked alongside her husband, Reverend Paul Wright. Donna and her husband were a formidable team, traveling across the United States as evangelists in the early years of their marriage and pastoring two churches in the years to come.

Donna's love for people was evident in every aspect of her life. She had an infectious sense of fun, a deep love for Jesus, and an unwavering devotion to her husband. Together, they ministered for five decades, their partnership in faith and life a testament to their shared commitment and love. Her husband's passing in 2020 marked the end of a beautiful 53-year marriage, but the legacy of their union continues to inspire.

Family was the cornerstone of Donna's world. She adored her children, Amy (Todd) Reed and Matthew (Kelly) Wright, and cherished every moment with her grandchildren, Michael, Havilah, Silas, Jacob, and Elisha. To Donna, her grandchildren were the stars in the sky, each one special and loved beyond measure.

Donna was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul; her sister Phyllis "Arlene" Brush, and her grandson, Nicholas.

Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate Donna's remarkable life from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Stark Memorial Funeral. A service honoring Donna's legacy will commence at noon, officiated by her son, Reverend Matthew Wright.

Following the service, Donna will be laid to rest at Grandview Cemetery in Salem, beside her husband.
