Doris Hoffman Obituary

Sebring- Doris May Hoffman, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on March 30, 2024, in Sebring, OH. Born on June 13, 1935, in Leetonia, OH, to the late Clinton and Verda (Ware) Price, Doris lived a life marked by kindness, creativity, and dedication to her family.

Doris was the beloved wife of the late Robert L. Hoffman, whom she married on January 25, 1953. Robert passed away on March 11, 2015. Together, they raised a family of four children who will forever remember her warmth and guidance, Shirley Myers and her husband Craig of Berlin Center, Charlie Hoffman and his wife Roselee of Berlin Center, Lester Hoffman and his wife Vicki of Trenton, SC, and Marilyn Brisell and her husband Bill of Orman Beach, FL. She was the proud grandmother to nine grandchildren and treasured the joy of several great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense happiness to her life.

Doris's career was as diverse as it was fulfilling. She retired from Stalls Garden Center, where she nurtured plants and flowers with the same care she gave to her family. Doris also contributed her skills and compassion to Copeland Oaks Retirement Community, serving as a nurse's aide, a valued member of the doctor's office, and an integral part of the transportation department.

A woman of many interests, Doris devoted her time and talents to the betterment of her community. She served as a 4-H advisor, imparting wisdom and fostering a love for agriculture in the youth she mentored. Her green thumb found a home in the Rural Roads Garden Club, and her faith was reflected in her active membership at the Damascus United Methodist Church. Doris led by example as the past president of the Ladies Group at the church and contributed her time to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Damascus Fire Department.

Creativity flowed through Doris's veins; she was an artist in every sense. Her hand-painted German Santa Clauses were cherished by all who received them, and her skills as a seamstress were unparalleled. Doris's artistic talents were also showcased in the beautiful wedding cakes she crafted for years, each a masterpiece of her dedication and passion for creating joy through her work.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Verda, as well as her husband, Robert and three siblings, Ralph, Ruth and Donny.
