Elmer Oesch Obituary

SALEM - Elmer Oesch, 91, of Salem, passed from this life on Saturday, March 19, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born on December 10, 1930 to parents the late Clarence and Mabel (Mounts) Oesch.

Elmer was a veteran of the United States Army stationed in Germany and served during Korean War.

He was a man of few words, always observing, always laughing, and definitely adding hilarious commentary when the mood struck. He was a Lady Gaga fan, a master woodworker, a Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Indians fan. He was a hard worker, fisherman, and loved the Golden Girls. We will miss his wit and humor, and unconditional love; all 91 years of it.

He worked at Ferro Incorporated in Sebring for 26 years. Elmer was employed at Blackhawk for 13 years. He was married to his first wife Delores for 17 years before she passed away.

Preceding him in death are his five brothers and four. sisters; Laverne, Nancy, Evelyn, Virgil, Lamoine, Dale, Wayne, Gertrude and Lawrence.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 42 years, Dorothy (Cibula) Oesch; three children, Brenda (Bob) Spencer, Ricky Yoder and Ronald (Michelle) Yoder; five grandchildren, Adam and Kyle Shonce, Amber, Drake and Jake Yoder; and his sister, Letha Carreon.

He will be dearly missed by his family.

A funeral service for Elmer will take place 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2022 at Stark Memorial. Visitation will take place one hour prior. He will be laid to rest at East Carmel Cemetery in Rogers, OH.
