Salem- Gary George Kosch went home to be with Lord on Saturday, November 23, 2024, after a short battle with cancer.
Gary was born on September 29, 1953, to Elmer "Al" Kosch and Mary Kosch of Salem.
He graduated from Salem Senior High School in 1971 and went on to get his degree in Business at Youngstown State University in 1976. Gary was a diehard Browns fan. Every Sunday you’d find the whole family watching the game together. We were glad that the Browns beat the Steelers for him one last time.
Gary went by many names, Geeky, Mr. Doodler, Gare Bear, Grandpa, Papa, and most importantly, Dad. He was known for his hilarious sense of humor and for always making everyone feel welcomed at our home.
He leaves behind two daughters, Kelly (Mark) Birchak of Salem, and Lindsay (Jim) May of Berlin Center, and five grandchildren, Evan, Jess, Brittiany, Lilly, and Dexter and his grand-puppy, Norman.
We find comfort in knowing that he will be spending the Holidays in Heaven with his dad, mom, and sister, Carol. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Stark Memorial Funeral Home. Please feel free to wear your favorite Browns attire to celebrate his life with us.
