LEETONIA - Gaye Carnahan, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, November 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on October 11, 1953, Gaye lived a life full of warmth, kindness, and devotion to her family.
She was the cherished spouse of James Carnahan and a proud mother to Valerie (Tom) Sherych, Pete (Barb) Gonatas, Dennis (Shari) Gonatas, Ross Guthrie, Amanda Hewitt, Chrystal (Rob) Schaeffer, and Heather Dean.
Her legacy continues through her many grandchildren, Kristen, Dakota, Ashley Elizabeth, Demetri, Dennis, John, Alex, Madison, Ethan, Evan, Hanna, Mason, Zachary James, Perry, Eileen, Ashley, Zack, Chloe, Ethan, Lincoln, Christopher, Ben, and Emily, and her great grandchildren, Jayden, Makayla, Maddison, Landen, Malakai, Shepard, Sadie, Callie, and Harvey.
Gaye was preceded in death by her late husband, Dennis Gonatas; parents, James and Mary Simpson, and sisters, Holly and Deanna.
She will be remembered not only for her unwavering love and laughter but also for her passions: an avid soup maker, a music lover, and a green thumb who could grow anything in a garden. Her home was always filled with warmth, good food, and the beauty of nature.
