George Russell

DAMASCUS - George Russell, 82, of Damascus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

George was born June 17, 1942 to the late George and Leona (nee Close) Russell in Salem, Ohio.

Besides his parents, George was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sheron (nee Mapes) Russell and son Rusty Russell.

George is dearly remembered by his loving children, Lori Zeigler, Les Russell, Scott Paina (wife Jodi), and Bobbie Jo Russell; cherished grandchildren, Paige Stamco (husband Corey), Kyle Zeigler, Erika Ayers (husband Troy), Lance Russell (wife Bella), Christopher Russell (wife Amanda); and great-granddaughter, Natallee Markgraf; four-legged companion, Pedro; and many other loving family members and friends.

George enjoyed fishing in Canada in his younger years, attending Mount Union football games, and Cleveland sports. He was proud to be a father and grandfather and loved his family dearly. He never missed a sporting event or dance competition and was always the biggest fan for his grandchildren. He enjoyed many family vacations, backyard cookouts, and many memories we will cherish in our hearts.
