Gerald E. Beiling Sr.

NORTH LIMA - Gerald Eugene Beiling Sr., a cherished family man, respected educator, and venerable US Navy veteran, went to be with the lord on August 27, 2025, in his North Lima home.

Born on August 8, 1934, in Lisbon, to the late Michael W. Beiling and Beulah (Yarwood) Beiling, Gerald’s life was marked by dedication to his loved ones and an unwavering commitment to his community.

He shared over 68 years with his beloved wife, Donna (Moore) Beiling, whom he married on January 12, 1957. Gerald's legacy of love and guidance will live on through his children, Vicki (John) Piersol, Gerald (Crystal Evans) Beiling Jr., Todd Beiling, Lisa (Dale Hazelett) Beiling; brother, Michael Beiling Jr. He was preceded in death by his sister, Dona Koffel. Gerald was a proud grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, as well as an Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Gerald served in the US Navy from 1952 to 1956 during the Korean War. Subsequently, he was a vocational drafting teacher at Salem High School.

Active in his faith, Gerald attended Greenford Christian Church. He was a past member of the Salem Elks and participated in the Golf League. He was a little league and high school baseball coach. He also enjoyed watching the Cleveland Guardians, Cavaliers, and Browns on television.

Gerald and Donna shared companionship. For 50 years, they played on mixed doubles bowling leagues and enjoyed their casino trips. Above all else, Gerald's favorite times were those spent surrounded by family.

A funeral service will take place at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Stark Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. John Bush presiding. Calling hours will precede the service at 6:00 p.m. Burial will take place at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Woodsdale Cemetery. Please meet at the cemetery.
