Gladys V. (Justice) Simpson

SALEM – Gladys V. Simpson, 95, passed away Friday, October 31, 2025, at her home. She was born on July 28, 1930, in Akron, daughter of the late Clay and Alvada (Justice) Thorn.

Gladys raised seven children, which kept her very busy as a housewife. She enjoyed the company of her family and friends. Gladys was a former member of the Slovak Club of Salem and the Eagles of Salem.

She is survived by two sons, Wally G. (Carlie) Simpson of Salem and James I. (Patty) Simpson of Myrtle Beach, SC; two daughters, LaVonne Simpson and Darla Schnorrenberg of Salem; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Valerie Rae Simpson; two sons, Gary L. Simpson and Danny E. Simpson; granddaughter, Hannah E. Schnorrenberg; sister, and four brothers.

There will be no service or calling hours. She will be laid to rest at Grandview Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Stark Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
