James McClaren Obituary

This is in loving memory of James D. McClaren, 87, who passed away peacefully at Crandall Medical Center, Wednesday afternoon February 17, 2021. He was born November 11, 1933 in Salem, Ohio to the late James N. and Dorothy (Cobbs) McClaren.

James served in the United States Army, 4th Infantry Division.  He worked as a draftsman at Electric Furnace retiring in 1998.  James was a member of Winona United Methodist Church, where he served on the board, held various positions and taught adult Sunday School for a number of years. In addition, he was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows and served on the United Local School Board.

His wife of 64 years, Cecilia McClaren, preceded him in death December 11, 2019.

James has two sons, Dr. James (Gail) McClaren, Pastor; and Thomas (Jennifer) McClaren; a daughter, Ann (Doug) George; 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A memorial service honoring James will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at the Winona United Methodist Church in Winona, Ohio with Dr. James E. McClaren officiating. Please adhere to social distancing, do not linger, and bring your own mask. Burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery in Leetonia.
