SALEM - Jodie Allen Williams, 67, passed at 1:10 a.m. Thurs., March 16, 2023, at Hospice of the Valley in Poland Township, Ohio.
Jodie was born on August 31, 1955, in Salem, the son of Edward and Diana (Stanion) Williams.
Jodie was a 1973 graduate of West Branch High School. He worked at MPI Label Systems as a Printer for 44 years, retiring in 2017.
He was avid fisherman, many would say he lived for fishing, he was also a hunter and loved spending time outdoors. Jodie enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren who affectionally call him Pop-Pop. Many friends knew him as Brains while others lovingly knew him as Beeson, Uncle B, and Chess.
Jodie leaves one daughter, Jamie Schmid and her husband Jason and their two children, Wes Schmid and Mara Schmid all of Akron; his partner of 30 years, Kathy Bates of Salem; three brothers, Shawn Williams of Beloit, Scott Williams and his wife Anita of Sebring, Ed Williams and his fiancé Sandy of Bellville; and two sisters, Amy Jacko and her husband Joe of Malvern, and Susan Williams and her partner Marcia of Beloit, and nieces and nephews.
Jodie was preceded in death by his parents, and his Aunt Rose Bartek who was like a second mother to him after his own mothers passing.
Friends and family will be received from noon- 2 p.m. Tues., March 21, 2023, at Stark Memorial.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Leonard Moore officiating.
