Judith L. Kozar

SALEM - Judith Lynn Kozar, 77, passed away Monday, September 16, 2024, at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton, Ohio.

Judith was born on September 26, 1946, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of William Grady and Donna (Hodson) Durham.

Judith was a 1964 Salem High School graduate. She worked as a nurse aid and as a house mother and administrator at Lifeline Family Center passionately serving those in need.

She loved to travel with her husband, having embraced much of the scenery and culture in Europe. She also enjoyed spending time with her family during camping trips. She could often be found reading her latest favorite book, as well as cooking for her family and was known for having the best homemade pizza. Her faith was a cornerstone of her being, and she faithfully attended First Friend's Church, where her presence was a source of comfort and joy to the congregation.

Survivors include Joseph Kozar whom she married December 30, 1965; children, Joseph (Diana) Kozar of Union, Kentucky, Mark (Dawn) Kozar of Cave City Kentucky, Sharon (John) Fritz of Murfreesboro, North Carolina, and Kathryn Parsley of Spartanburg, South Carolina; grandchildren, Daniel, Benjamin, Carter, Kylie, Keaton, Cadance, Matthew, Charlene, Stephen, Brian, Lydia, Sophia, Kelly, Zoe; great-grandchildren, James, Pepa, Leander, Oliver, Christopher, Colin, and Kelaiya.

Preceded in death by her parents, William and Donna (Hodson) Durham; and brother, William Durham.

A celebration of life will be held at the Salem First Friend's Church at a later date.
