Kirk C. Zimmerman

SALEM - Kirk C. Zimmerman, a man known for his quick wit and unmistakable presence, passed away at the age of 69 on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Parkside Health Care Center in Columbiana, OH. Born on March 17, 1955, in Youngstown, OH, he was the son of the late Bill Zimmerman and Donna (Finley) Potter.

A 1973 graduate of Western Reserve High School, Kirk carved out a life for himself as a self-employed contractor, a profession that showcased his independence and strong work ethic. His hands were not only skilled in his trade but also in the care and companionship he provided to his beloved Harley Davidson motorcycles and his adored dogs, Sweet Pea and Trouble.

Kirk's love for life and laughter was contagious. His quick wit ensured that moments spent with him were full of joy and his jokes would leave an indelible mark of happiness on those around him. He had an innate ability to light up a room simply by being in it, and his presence was a comfort and delight to many.

Family was the cornerstone of Kirk's world. He is survived by his loving children, Alicia (Brian) Houshour of Salem, OH, Cassie Zimmerman of Youngstown, and Erica (CJ) Smith of Boardman. His memory will be honored and cherished by his four siblings, Bonnie, Shawn Dee, Shawn Marie, and Billy. Kirk was a proud grandfather to Barbara, James, Ellie, and Ila, who will carry forward his legacy of strength and humor. He also leaves behind his best friend, Charlie who stood beside him till the very end.

A Celebration of Life for Kirk will be held at a later date, providing family, friends, and loved ones the opportunity to come together and honor a man whose impact on their lives was profound and lasting.

His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit will continue to inspire laughter, courage, and love in the memories they hold dear.
