SALEM - Larry Dye, 74, went home to be with the Lord on January 13, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Born on April 30, 1951, in East Liverpool, OH, Larry was the son of Arlie and Beatrice N. (Barrett) Dye. From his early days, he was instilled with the values of hard work and community spirit, traits that would define him throughout his life. A graduate of East Liverpool High School, Larry embarked on a career that saw him contribute to several local industries. He began his working career with Homer Laughlin Pottery in Chester, WV, before transitioning to a role at Eljer Plumbingware as a foundry worker, and completed his career with Fresh Mark as a packer.
Larry's commitment was not limited to his professional endeavors. Devoted to serving his community, he previosuly was a volunteer fireman with the Glenmoor Volunteer Fire Department, Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department, and Damascus Volunteer Fire Department.
Alongside his wife, the former Susanne Hull, whom he married on May 10, 1986, they were active members of the Salvation Army Salem Corps. Larry invested his time in helping with the children’s activities, provided van transportation for those in need, and was a regular fixture at Sunday church services. Larry and Sue also traveled with the Salvation Army to help with relief efforts in the areas affected by Hurricane Katrina and the tragic events of 9/11.
Enjoying life's simple pleasures, Larry could often be found cheering for his beloved Cleveland Browns or supporting the local Salem High School football team alongside Sue.
Larry's legacy is one of a gentle and easygoing man, whose faith-filled life and generous heart touched many. Left to carry on Larry's memory is his wife, Susanne; sisters, Rochelle (Jim) Herring and Ramona Wilt, all of East Liverpool; and a cherished circle of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Harley Wilt.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Larry's life at a memorial service at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the Salvation Army Salem Corps., 1249 N. Ellsworth Ave., Salem.
