Larry Middleton, a beloved husband, father, brother,grandfather, passed away at the age of 70 on Friday, April 18,2025, at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh. Born on September 16, 1954, in Flint, Michigan, Larry was the cherished son of the late Ralph James and Jean Elizabeth (Clemensen) Middleton.
A graduate of Boardman High School, class of 1972, Larry's innovative spirit led him to a distinguished career in the field of automotive electronics. His expertise and passion for his work were evident to all who knew him, as he left a mark on the industry through his roles at Custom Car Stereo in Houston and Docs Radio in Boardman. Larry's dedication to his craft earned him the respect of colleagues and customers alike until his retirement in 2011.
Outside of his professional life, Larry was a man of diverse interests and talents. He was an avid visitor to the gun range with his late son Michael, where he honed his marksmanship skills. His artistic side found a creative outlet in woodburning, a craft through which he created many cherished pieces. Camping was another of Larry's joys, allowing him to connect with nature and share special moments with loved ones.
His love for sports was well-known, with a particular affection for the Indians, Buckeyes, and Steelers. Larry's enthusiasm for his favorite teams was infectious, bringing energy to game days and gatherings with friends and family. He had a special way of embracing his children's friends, making them feel like part of the family and creating a warm, welcoming home environment for all.
Larry's kindness extended to the holiday season when he would join his wife, Patty baking Kolache and Baklava and others a tradition that brought joy and sweetness to their family celebrations.
Larry's legacy is carried on by his devoted wife, Patty Middleton (Nelle), whom he met when they were both 16 and went onto to get married on November 1, 1974. His love and guidance will forever be missed by his children, Devin Middleton and Chris (Jennifer) Middleton. He was a grandfather to Aiden, Chase, Ethan, Mason Harper, Beckett, Rebel , Kenzie, and Nova who will cherish their memories with him. His sister, Deborah (John) Sidwell of Topeka, KS, and daughter-in-law, Gisell Middleton, also survive him.
Larry's life was touched by the loss of his son, Michael G. Middleton, and his sister, Nancy Jo Middleton, who both preceded him in death.
Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories of Larry on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 3:00-5:00 p.m., at Stark Memorial. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m., officiated by Daniel P. Madden, celebrating Larry's life and the profound impact he had on those around him.
