Laura "Sis" I. (Morrison) Straub

SALEM - Laura I. "Sis" Straub, 92, died Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Salem West Healthcare Center. She was born October 11, 1930, in New Brighten, PA, daughter of the late Lloyd and Virginia Campbell Morrison.

Laura was a 1948 graduate of West Branch High School. She worked at Society Bank, retiring in 1993. Laura was a member of First Baptist Church of Salem, Salem Women's Democratic Club where she was honored as Democrat of the year, and the Peterson's Women’s Circle of the church.

Survivors include three sisters, Linda Skidmore of Salem, Jean Rogenski of Mineral Ridge, and Priscella Marmagin of Austintown; one brother, Garry Morrison of Salem, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Straub, whom she married August 22, 1954, passed away April 1, 1990. Laura was also preceded by three brothers, Herbert, Lloyd, and Larry Morrison, and two sisters, Loretta Young and Evelyn Morrison.

Friends and family will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2023, at Stark Memorial.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Clay Folger officiating. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery in Salem, Ohio.
