Lexa Rae Hecht, 93, of Sebring, Ohio, died Saturday, March 21, 2026, 5pm at Crandall Medical Center. She and her deceased husband William moved to Copeland Oaks 14 years ago and enjoyed their time and many friends at Lakeshore Independent living. For the past 6 years she has been cared for by the amazing staff at Crandall Memory Lane; and her family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to everyone at Copeland Oaks for their compassionate care.

She was born in Salem, Ohio, to the late Forrest and Loretta Halverstadt Sitler and grew up on Sitlers’ Farm in Franklin Square while attending and graduating from Leetonia High School.

She worked for Leetonia High School, Salem Hospital, Kaiser Refractories, Weyant Paint, Herron Realty, and the Joshua Tree.

She loved life to its fullest and always reminded us to not look back. She will be remembered for her amazing smile. She had many talents including artist, saxophone, piano, and interior designs.

She was preceded in death by husbands William I. Hecht 2014, William E. Miller 1980, former husband H. Twing Hiscox 1983, daughter Denise Hiscox Shultz 2008, sister-in-law Cynthia Hecht, and son-in-law John Ziegler

She is survived by her loving brother Richard Sitler and his wife Annabelle, sons Douglas (Linda) Hiscox, Derek (Patty) Hiscox, son-in-law Dr. Herb (Cindy) Shultz, stepdaughters Elizabeth (Peter) Hecht Savoy and Kristin Hecht Zeigler, brother-in-law Robert Hecht, and by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Per Lexa’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. Her favorite charity was the Copeland Oaks Foundation at 800 South 15th Street, Sebring, OH 44672.

Arrangements are being handled by Stark Memorial Funeral Home.
