Linda A. Schuster, 82, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Hospice House in Youngstown, OH. Born to the late Rudolph and Helen (Girscht) Schuster on September 3, 1942, in Salem, OH, Linda was a lifelong resident of the town she adored and contributed to.
Linda was a proud 1960 graduate of Salem High School. Her career at Heggy's restaurant in Salem, where she did a little of everything, was marked by her love for the community, always with a smile and an open ear for the stories of the townspeople. Linda's love for music made her a familiar face at Ponderosa Park during the summer months, where she reveled in the live shows and the joy, they brought to her and the audience.
Beyond her professional life, Linda's true passion was her family. As a devoted mother, she raised four boys on her own. Her love for reading was profound, with a particular fondness for history and the novels of Stephen King.
She was a dedicated member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Additionally, her engagement with the Salem Saxon Club in Salem allowed her to forge lasting friendships and contribute to her beloved hometown.
She leaves behind cherished memories with her sons, Rick (Kim) Schenck, Joe (Mary Menning) Schenck, and Steve (Natasha) Schenck; grandchildren, Michael, Jacob, Mathew, and Colton; two great-grandchildren, and her sister, Janet (Mike) Cummings.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Charles Schenck.
A celebration of life will be held later by her family.
