Lois E. Pennell, 75, of Salem, Ohio, died at 10:40 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2025, at Salem Regional Medical Center, with her family by her side. Lois was born March 7, 1950, in Salem, Ohio, the daughter of the late Charles (Russell) and Katherine (Kenst) Lottman.
Lois graduated from Salem High School in 1968 and worked at Fresh Mark, Inc. in Salem for 39 years. She was most recently a purchaser, having held various positions throughout her tenure. She was previously on the Board of Directors for the Salem Historical Society and a member of the Salem Alumni Association. Lois was an enthusiastic sports fan. She loved THE Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns, and the Cleveland Guardians. She also loved animals and was a faithful supporter of Angels for Animals.
She was devoted to her family. Survivors include her son, Ryan (Megan) Pennell of Powell, Ohio, grandchildren, Carter and Katherine Pennell of Powell, Ohio, sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda (Mike) Carnal, Marsha (Mike) Rozeski, Cathy Shelton, and Trudy (Kevin) Cheney, of Salem, nieces, Carly (Tony) Houshour, of Salem, Erica (Ray) Harr, of Lisbon, and Stephanie (James Thompson) Shelton, of Austintown, nephews, Brandon Marchese, of Warren, and Nick (Samantha) Cheney, of Lakengren, great-niece and caregiver, Devan Houshour of Boardman, and great-nephew, Damon Harr of Lisbon.
Lois was preceded in death by the love of her life, Clyde "Bill" Pennell, whom she married on September 27, 1975, brother, Russell "Butch" Lottman, of Salem, and brother-in-law, Raymond Shelton, of Salem.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Stark Memorial Funeral, with her nephew Tony Houshour officiating. There will be a private burial for the immediate family following. Calling hours will be held Monday, April 21, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
