Marc A. Mitchell

Berlin Center-Marc Anson Mitchell, 48, was freed from his 6-year fight with ALS on Friday, April 18, 2025, after a long, courageous battle.

Marc, affectionately known as “Peep” was born on January 19, 1977, to the late Timothy and Kathleen (Williams) Mitchell of Salem. He graduated from United Local High School in 1995 and went on to get his degree in Engineering at Kent State University. He had the pleasure of working for IES Systems Inc. in Canfield for almost 20 years as a mechanical engineer.

Marc was a big car guy and loved going to races with his brothers, working on his GTO, and working on projects with his boys in his garage, while listening to the Indians play ball on the radio. Marc was a simple, hardworking man who built his home and then filled it with his loving wife, three amazing sons, and many dogs over the years, which included his beloved Weimaraners, and cats too (not his choice but he hardly complained). He was known for his dry and witty sense of humor, his smoked brisket, and for having his family and friends over to have a beer and sit around the campfire.

He is survived by his wife, Lei Ann “Weez” (Miller) Mitchell, 45; three sons, Sam, 16, Jake, 13, and Luke, 12; three brothers, John “Juan” (Gina) Mitchell, Matt “Pukey” (Darby) Mitchell, and James “Timmy” (Lisa) Mitchell; his seven nephews and six nieces; and his mother-in-law, Cathy (Miller) Molnar.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, April 28, 2025, from 4:00-5:45 p.m. at the Berlin Center United Methodist Church, 15611 W. Akron-Canfield Rd., Berlin Center, Ohio 44401, where a memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m.

Memorial tributes may take the form of contributions in Marc’s name to the ALS Association Northern Ohio Chapter, 6133 Rockside Rd, Suite 301, Independence, Ohio 44131.

Marc’s wife would like to express her appreciation and thanks to their family, friends, and IES Systems Inc., for their constant love, help, and support.
