She was a 1950 graduate of Toronto High School and continued to earn a degree in Nursing from Akron General in 1953. In Salem, she was a proud, lifelong member of The First Presbyterian Church, was a 50-year member of Eastern Star, and served for 50 years as a board member for The Century House. In her later years, she enjoyed her weekly swims at The Salem Community Center, sharing lunch every Friday with the lunch-bunch, cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes, and going on cruises with her daughter and grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter, Julie (Sam) Johnson, one granddaughter, Dr. Paige Johnson, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; sister, Beverly Cox; grandson, Hayden Johnson, and many lifelong friends.
