Marilyn Kay Paulini, 75, passed away at the Hospice House on December 31, 2025 surrounded by her family after battling a brief illness.
Marilyn was born March 3, 1950, in Salem, Ohio, a daughter of the late H. Wayne and Alice (Vanek) Russell.
Raised in Salem, she was a graduate of the Salem High School class of 1968. She spent years serving patrons at locations such as Timberlanes, Jamie’s, Annabelle’s, Mason’s Steakhouse, and VFW Post 892.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Dick Paulini, whom she married June 3, 1988, as well as her three sons, Kyle (Susie) Gainor of Salem, Kirk (Monica) Gainor of Monticello, IN, and Kent (Katie) Paulini of Poland, OH. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Matthew Paulini of Galloway, OH and Michael (Dawn) Paulini of Salem. In addition, she is survived by her brother, Dan (Cheryl) Russell of Flint, MI, as well as her three beautiful granddaughters, Samantha, Lacie, and Anna.
Marilyn was a lifelong Cleveland baseball fan. She loved spending time on her porch listening to Tom Hamilton call games on the radio. She loved watching her granddaughters play volleyball and softball, spending time babysitting her youngest granddaughter, and in recent years, following West Virginia University basketball, baseball, Michigan State basketball, and Nebraska volleyball.
No formal services will be held. A celebration of life will take place at VFW Post 892 in Salem, OH on Feb. 7, 2026 beginning at 2:00 p.m.
