Mark L. Hoops

Mark L. Hoops, 59, of Salem, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, May 19, 2025. Mark was born November 8,1965 in Janesville, Wisconsin to the late Clyde D. Hoops and Jean (King) Hoops. Besides his parents, Mark is preceded in death by nephews Nick Scheetz and Jeremiah Harder and a niece Cheri Hoops.

Mark is remembered by his siblings David Hoops, Debbie Jorgenson, Cheri (Mike) Brill, Mariann (Phil) Menter, Mike (Diane) Hoops, Sue (Eugene) Mead, and Patti (Mike) Scheetz; many nieces and nephews.

Mark was employed with Fresh Mark of Salem for 30 years. He was a member of Greenford Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed going to car shows in the area and spending time with his nieces and nephews. Mark had the gift of gab and could draw many family members and friends. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Mark will be remembered fondly on the front porch swing. He will be dearly missed by so many.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Stark Memorial Funeral Home located at 1014 E. State Street, Salem. Celebration of Mark’s Life will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Josh Ruiter officiating.

He will be laid to rest at Bunker Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a crisis organization.
