Mark Skowron Obituary

SALEM - Mark J. Skowron, passed away peacefully at his home in Salem, on early Thursday evening February 6, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on May 31, 1950, in Salem, he was a lifelong resident who left an indelible mark on the community he held dear.

Mark was the cherished son of the late Walter and Joyce (Stratton) Skowron. His journey through life was a testament to his enduring love and dedication to his family. On October 12, 1985, he married the love of his life, Michele (Murdoch) Skowron, and together they built a life filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories.

A proud father, Mark leaves behind a legacy in his three children: Kourtney Beauregard and her husband Doug of North Canton, Jeffery Skowron of Columbus, and Casey Skowron and his wife Ashley of Pemberville, OH. His wisdom, humor, and kindness shaped their lives, and his influence will continue to guide them. Mark also found joy in his role as a grandfather to five adored grandchildren: Luke, Chase, Claire, Kerrigan, and Mason, who will miss their grandpa's playful spirit and gentle guidance.

He is survived by his loving sisters, Becky Grey and her husband Ron of Salem, and Caryn Lisowski of Wadsworth. Mark was predeceased by his sister Lynn Ann Skowron, and his presence will be deeply missed by his extended family and friends.

A graduate of Salem High School, Mark went on to enter the electrical trades, where he demonstrated a remarkable work ethic and commitment to his craft. He was a respected union electrician with the IBW Local 64, where his colleagues esteemed him for his reliability, skill, and camaraderie.

Mark's passions extended beyond his professional life. A member of the Canfield Sportsman’s Conservation Club, he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He had a particular love for ocean fishing, which spoke to his adventurous spirit and appreciation for nature's beauty. Those who knew Mark understood his deep connection to the land; he found solace in farming and could often be found fixing things, always with a smile on his face.

Kind, funny, and friendly, Mark's personality was a beacon of light to all who had the pleasure of crossing his path. His sense of humor brought joy to everyday moments, and his kindness made him a friend to many. Mark's friendly demeanor allowed him to form lasting relationships, and his absence will leave a void in the hearts of those who loved him.

As we say farewell to Mark, we honor a life well-lived, a man well-loved, and a legacy that will continue to inspire. His memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories told, the laughter shared, and the love he gave so freely. Mark J. Skowron will be remembered not just for what he did, but for who he was—a kind soul, a loving husband, a devoted father and grandfather, a loyal friend, and a man who made the world a better place simply by being in it.
