Marlene Berger Obituary

Marlene Berger, 89, joined her loving husband Paul on August 10, 2021, after a brief illness.

She was born July 15, 1932, in Salem, the daughter of Harry L. and Esther (Fites) Brown. 

Marlene was a class of 1950 graduate of Salem High School where she met her husband, Paul. Married for 66 years, they had many adventures together. They lived in California while Paul was in the service and returned to Cuyahoga Falls where they raised 4 children. Marlene was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, home decorating, cooking, and baking.

Marlene and Paul enjoyed vacationing in Myrtle Beach, Arizona, and England. They also spent many years living at both Sevakeen Lake and Tappan Lake. As faithful Catholics, Marlene and Paul attended Catholic services in parishes wherever they lived.

Marlene is survived by one son, Keith (Jane Lasse) Berger of Uniontown; two daughters, Sherry (Robert) Soules of Salem and Leslie (Donald) McAbier of Scottsdale, Arizona; daughter in law, Marina (Jamie) Berger; five grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; two nephews, Daryal and Caryal Emelo of Salem.

She was preceded in death by her husband; eldest son, Jamie Berger; sister, Donna Bowman and niece, Debbie Bowman.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. August 20, 2021, at Highland Memorial Park Chapel in Beloit with Father Robert Edwards officiating.
