SALEM - Marvin F. Johnson, 76, died Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Salem Regional Medical Center.
Marvin was born on October 12, 1948, in Richwood, West Virginia, the son of the late Francis T. and Essie (England) Johnson. He grew up in Nicholas and Greenbrier Counties in West Virginia, and moved to Salem, Ohio, where he lived out his life.
Marvin had a strong work ethic and was employed by several different shops and factories in Salem before retiring from Eljer Plumbing Factory after 35 years of dedicated service.
An avid classic car and truck lover, Marvin owned over 50 of them throughout the years. In his leisure time, he enjoyed tinkering and repairing old lawnmowers and garden tractors.
Marvin was an honest and faithful husband and a good brother, who was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. His easygoing and laid-back personality will be missed by many.
Survivors include his wife, the former Ariel Caldwell, whom he married November 29, 2003; brothers, Marshal (Joanne) Johnson, Roger (Vicki) Johnson, and Gene (Jane) Johnson; stepson, Jason Caldwell; step grandchild, Liam Caldwell; and 17 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by siblings, William Johnson, Alice Fitzwater, and Diana Perry.
A graveside service was held at the Sebert Family Cemetery in Summersville, West Virginia.
