Morry (Beehler) Johnston

Mary E. "Morry" Johnston passed away on March 25, 2025, in Salem, OH, at the age of 85. Born on July 21, 1939, in McKeesport, PA, she was the daughter of Elizabeth Lewis Beehler.

Morry's early years were spent in the town of her birth, where she attended McKeesport High School and graduated with the class of 1957. Her passion for education and nurturing young minds led her to become a Home Economics teacher, a role in which she flourished until she decided to dedicate her life to her family as a stay-at-home mom after the birth of her children. She was an active member of the Girl Scouts and Brownies, where she guided young girls in developing skills and confidence. Her commitment to education continued through her participation in the school board PTA, advocating for the best interests of both students and teachers. Morry's love for nature and beauty was reflected in her membership with the Salem Garden Club, and her competitive spirit shone on the golf course, where she was known as an avid golfer.

Morry leaves behind her children, Sarah (Kevin) Jenkins, Geoff Miller, and Tim Miller, as well as her grandchildren, Cameron and Julian.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Johnston, her mother, Elizabeth, and her brother, Richard Beehler.

A private celebration of life will be held by her family.
