Nicholas Dawes Barton, 43, of Beloit, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on August 10, 2025, at Aultman Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born in Salem, Ohio, on February 12, 1982, to Kevan Michael Barton and Christina P. Dawes Barton. Nick was a 2000 graduate of West Branch Local Schools and was the proud owner and operator of Barton Automotive Group in Alliance, Ohio.
Nick was a devoted and loving father who lived every day for his family. His greatest joy came from being present for those he loved—offering unwavering support, laughter, and a heart full of kindness.
For over 20 years, Nick poured his passion into the car business, a career that brought him pride and deep connections with people from all walks of life. He especially cherished the time spent behind the wheel of his GTO, a car he loved dearly and shared with his wife—each of them having their own. Driving those cars wasn’t just a hobby; it was a source of joy, freedom, and a reflection of the life they built together.
Outside of work, Nick found peace in nature—tending to his beloved flowers or simply being outdoors. He had a gift for friendship. No matter how much time had passed, reconnecting with him always felt like no time at all. His warmth, generosity, and genuine love for people left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Nick didn’t just know people—he touched their lives deeply and sincerely, with a kindness that will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his loving wife, Amanda, with whom he spent the last 16 years, and their four daughters, Trista Swanson, Lauryn, Bailey, and Elliana Barton.
Also surviving are his sister, Lindsay Barton; mother- and father-in-law, Michael (Lisa) Gaskill; sister-in-law, Eden (Cameron) Barnett; brother-in-law, Michael (Bobbie) Gaskill Jr.; grandparents, Nancy Barton, Sandra Dawes, and Edmund and Carol Dawes; and nieces and nephews, Bryson and Alex Barton, Brooklyn, Kylee, Alleigha, and Emmalyn Gaskill, and Aurora Barnett.
He will also be dearly missed by his many aunts and uncles, Jeffery (Elizabeth) Barton, Gary Barton, Darrin Barton, Darryl Dawes, Edmund Jr. Dawes, Kimberly Dawes, Michele (Robyn) Quattlebaum, and William (Abbey) Dawes. Nick especially loved and adored his cousins, Brittany Bickley, Jeffery Jr. Barton, and Jared Barton, Christopher, Tiffany, and Anthony Dawes.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Duane Barton, and his uncle, Bart Dawes.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Stark Memorial Funeral Home.
