Norman Albrecht Obituary

YOUNGSTOWN - Norman E. Albrecht, 83, died Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Briarfield Manor in Youngstown. Born on November 12, 1941, in Reedley, California, Norman was the son of the late Theodore (Ted) and Lena (Heinrichs) Albrecht.

Norman attended Immanuel High School where he played basketball and made lifelong friendships. He worked as a Lumber Mill Operator at the sawmill in Reedley, but his true passion was farming, a calling he pursued wholeheartedly. A dedicated member of the Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church, Norman was guided by his strong faith throughout his life.

Norm will be fondly remembered for his infectious sense of humor and quick wit, always ready with a joke that could brighten even the toughest of days. His ability to make those around him laugh was one of his many gifts, and he was loved for the warmth and joy he brought to every interaction.

An avid farmer and baker, Norman took pride in his delicious Zwiebach and Beerocks, sharing them generously with family, friends, and neighbors. He found joy in the simple things: tending to his animals, hunting, cooking, and gifting his farm produce and baked goods to others. Always the first to lend a hand, Norman's generosity and kind spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Norman is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine A. (Richert) Albrecht; his daughter, Karen (David) Vargas of Canfield; and his brother, John (Karen) Albrecht. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hilda Albrecht; his daughter, Jill Albrecht; his parents, Lena and Theodore Albrecht; and his brother, Lloyd Albrecht.

Though he is no longer with us, Norman's spirit will live on in the countless memories shared by those who loved him. His humor, kindness, and unwavering generosity will forever remain in our hearts.

A celebration of Norman's life will be at 11 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2024, with a service and interment at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
